Alissar Hammoud is an Australian emerging designer seeking to subvert the cues of the fashion system through politically themed concepts. Through challenging social orders and traditional class systems, the designer interprets her body of work as a controversial device driven by textile, tactility and form. Regenerating material, creating body-less proportions and glorifying juxtapositions are fundamental to her design practice. Further specialising in denim, she applies surface treatments that vary from coating, stone-washing to vinyl heat transfers to abstract our familiarities with everyday material.
The designer overall, combines her skill of design collaboratively across other disciplines to exhibit the future of fashion into newly perceived and repurposed wearables.
