AMXANDER is a contemporary menswear label based in Melbourne, Australia. Founded by Jason Alexander Pang, an honorary graduate of RMIT's School of Fashion and Textiles, AMXANDER debuted in 2013 with a collection that garnered attention for its intricate take on print and luxe sweatshirts. Alongside, Jake Chen, and Edmond Chua, business and art directors respectively, Jason desired to bring his experience from Mary Karantzou in developing a visual fiend – a label that deploys innovative techniques in communicating its core ideals. An elemental component of AMXANDER is its thematic exploration of culture myths and symbolism revolving around masculinity. Forgoing seasonality, each collection encompasses trans-seasonal pieces that is birthed by these parables. AMXANDER’s first collection, “Shatter”, revolved around the primal man, contrasted against the digital revolution, and its second collection, “Hounds”, examined the classic houndstooth motif – traditionally a symbol of affluence in the late 1800s, juxtaposed against street styles. With its use of tactile fabrications, and contemporary styling, AMXANDER will continue to explore, concept and sensate.
