ANK BY MIRLA SABINO
As a veteran in the fashion industry, Mirla Sabino has had years of experience designing clothing. She started her career with a sophisticated line of belts and jeans and then became the exclusive distributor of a major Brazilian swimwear line. As satisfaction lead to inspiration and inspiration lead to vision, in 2005 Mirla launched her own swimwear line named ANK that was set out to implement elements she believed were lacking in most swimwear designs. The Brazilian-born designer used her "carioca" beach roots to fine tune the style of her garments to enhance the best features and bring out the glamour in women of different nations. ANK continues enjoying attention as a key new trend-setter in the swimwear business by gaining continuous exposure on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Vogue Japan, Marie Claire, Glamour and Cosmo, among other key publications worldwide. With each collection, ANK delivers a line of swim and resort wear with delicate and daring prints, refined accessories and one-of-a-kind pieces with the elegance and versatility that allows women to feel chic and have fun have at the same time. ANK's heart is not only in fashion but also in making underprivileged children smile. The company directs a part of all sales proceeds towards an accredited social improvement project.
