Fatima Eunji Asanovski is an emerging Australian designer, launching her brand and showcasing her debut collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2014. She was introduced to fashion early, with the influence of her mother who owned a boutique; she began sewing and drawing at a young age. Her Eurasian background has diversified her tastes, funnelling into an essence that is unique, clean, and modern. Her obsession with the creative evolved overtime as she undertook Textiles & Design, Design & Technology and Visual Arts during her high school years, juggling three art and design major projects in her final year. Furthering her education in design, Fatima attended Raffles College of Design and Commerce Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Design and receiving the Academic Excellence Award for the class of 2012. She was also awarded a scholarship for Excellence in Gerber Technology and completed a specialised course at St. George Technical College. Since graduating, Fatima has been interning at several prominent Australian fashion labels including Fleur Wood, Bec & Bridge and Carla Zampatti. She is currently a design intern at Dion Lee and has begun teaching at Raffles College of Design and Commerce. The SS 2014/15 collection encompasses a minimal modernist style combined with subtle design detailing. The resulting range is structurally and tonally clean and precise, with a focus on textural fabrication and a clear bright palette. Individual pieces range between tailored separates and innovatively draped creations, offering a more diverse way of dressing for a variety of occasions. Design lines emulate a more structured, masculine direction to flatter the female form.
