Kevin Fitzpatrick Designer & Co-founder Cote d’Or Born in the sexy, sandy playground of Barbados, perhaps designing swimwear was in Kevin Fitzpatrick’s blood. Though, like his friend and business partner Stephanie Thais Fajardo, Cote d’Or had not always been part of the plan. In life and in business, Kevin has practiced the importance of setting goals and continuing to dream – values instilled to him by his grandmother. Kevin worked as a sales associate with Louis Vuitton where he learned that in leadership, one must take risks, unkowingly laying the foundation for one day running his own businesses. In 2011, Kevin launched Bijou, a state-of-the-art nightlife destination in Boston’s historic theater district with a group of longtime friends and business partners. Kevin, who was raised and educated in Boston, has traveled around the world, including to his favorite European destinations, Italy and France. There, he induldged in a love of photography documenting his travels and the stylish innovators and risktakers who wouldlater become major influencers behind Cote d’Or. Once Kevin and Stephanie hatched their poolside plan to create Cote d’Or, the friends and business patners knew they would address a gap in the swimwear market by creating a collection that would blend imagination with reality. Cote d’Or is a swimwear line for the woman who is a risktaker and understands confidence is about not just looking good, but feeling comfortable. With silhouettes ranging from modern to traditional, the debut collection is a contemporary interpreation of Mayan and Aztec culture depicted through high quality digital images, vibrant colors and alluring textures. Stephanie Theis Fajardo Designer & Co-founder Cote d’Or An internationally educated art lover and speaker of three languages, Stephanie Theis Fajardo had never aspired to be a fashion designer. Born in Medellin, Colombia, Stephanie is the product of an interntaional upbringing. Stephanie was raised in Cologne, Germany and educated in the United States – first at a prestigios Ohio boarding school and then at Universiy of Miami where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administartion and Political Science. After a professor gave an inspiring speech advising students to take a break and explore “something different” before proceeding to grad school, Stephanie retreated to her favorite part of Miami, the beach, to ponder her options for such a break. During a conversation with her friend and future business parter, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Stephanie wondered why she was sitting on one of the world’s most popular beach destinations and not looking at a single appealing swimsuit. Ever the business student, she could not deny the opporunity to fill what she saw as a gap in the global swimwear market. Stephanie returned to Colombia with a plan, a critique on what she would change or add about the swimwear she had seen. While building her strategy she established a business platform for what would shortly become Cote d’Or. Once Stephanie and Kevin hatched their poolside plan to create Cote d’Or, the friends and business patners knew they would address a gap in the swimwear market by creating a collection that would blend imagination with reality.
