Diyana Kosso was born on June 26th 1991 in Iraq, and raised in Australia from the age of 3. Diyana began her interest and love for fashion ever since childhood. She was amazed by evening dresses so she started drawing dresses from the age of 6. Her passion kept growing as she got older and her career goal was to become a fashion designer and eventually start her own label. During her High School years at Bossley Park High School, she attended art and textile design classes, which encouraged and helped her more to achieve her goal in becoming a fashion designer. Diyana finished her HSC and graduated in 2008 and decided to study Bachelor of Design (Majoring in Fashion Design) at Raffles College of Design and Commerce. Her three years at Raffles College has taught her how to be more successful in the fashion industry and to explore her inspiration and passion to fashion design. After graduating from Raffles College Diyana was one of the students selected by Raffles fashion director Nick Comino to showcase her design line for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in 2013 and selected an emerging star by Simon Lock. Jewelry designer Aida Guirguis for Scarab Rouge collaborated with Diyana Kosso to create high-end luxury jewelry pieces for the new Spring/Summer 14-15 collection showing at this year Mercedes Benz Fashion week Australia. This collection is all about lines, curves, bold colour and texture. My Inspiration comes from balance, creating high-end luxury garments that are light and structured, edgy but feminine. It’s all about using light against dark and balancing the two. The colours used in this collection are royal blue, light blue, white and black.
