industry recognition for her signature soft tailoring and juxtaposition of masculine
silhouettes and feminine fabrications.
Immigrating to Australia from Dubrovnik, Croatia, in 1993, Špetić brings a unique
romanticism to her designs, and a sensibility of the value of special clothing. Her
designs convey a considered wearability. Seamlines have purpose and fabrications
echo the thought behind the design process.

Always staying true to her signature design style, her collections are distinctive and
confident in their brand identity. The results have seen Špetić nomination for the 2014
International Woolmark prize, and positioning within publications including the New
York Times, French ELLE and Vogue Italia. Her designs have been worn by the likes
of Solange and Beyoncé Knowles and supported by prominent international bloggers
including Natalie Joos, Susie Lau of style Bubble, Leandra Medine from The Man
Repeller and Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Vintage.
In addition to her namesakes mainline collection, 2013 saw the expansion of the Karla
Špetić brand to incorporate ‘KŠ Swim’, a swim and loungewear label, showcasing
quality lycra swim suits in an array of bold prints, and ‘IĆ ’ a luxury knitwear label.
