Born in arctic north, Norwegian designer Nina Skarra is true to her roots. Residing in Oslo, Norway her collections combine the purity of Scandinavian design with a true understanding of what it means to be classic. Nina began her career as an illustrator and graphic designer, but she early on realized her real passion was for textiles and fashion. In 2008 Nina Skarra launched her first collection. Since then, the designer has grown rapidly to win the heart of French fashionistas, European royalties, celebrities and their stylists. Nina Skarra was nominated for the prestigious International Woolmark Prize and has been widely recognized for her design aesthetic and classic creations. This is Nina Skarra's debut to New York Fashion Week, but she is no stranger to the red carpet. Her designs have been worn by celebrities and royalty including, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Livia Firth, Natasha Alam, Angela Basset, Kimberly Quaid, Missi Pyle and Isabelle Fuhrman among others. With ambitions to have a ‘global impact’ on the sustainability agenda, Nina Skarra focuses on the development of green, sustainable design. The concept of Nina Skarra´s sustainability is about the whole footprint of the product, from raw material to disposal. Nina Skarra uses silk, wool, bamboo, soya, eco leather, and organic cotton. All these materials are 100% biodegradable and 100% eco friendly.
