RACHELALEX is a high-end, women’s wear brand that caters to both the local and international fashion markets. The union of digital textile print and garment design is the culmination of the label’s successful aesthetic. Bold prints and dynamic proportions have established the label’s visual dialogue. Unexpected details and innovative application of colour and print come into play with RACHELALEX garments, including the use of innovative fabrication techniques. Designer sisters Rachel and Alexandra were born in Australia and have recently worked/interned in London for high-end women’s wear labels Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and Swash London. Rachel graduated with honours from the College of Fine Arts UNSW with a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Textile and Graphic Design in 2012. Alexandra graduated from Whitehouse Institute of Design with a Bachelor of Fashion Design; as a result she received the Vogue Award in 2012 for her graduating collection. Consequently, Alexandra was selected to show her graduate collection ‘Engineered Species’ at the Who’s Next Prêt-A-Porter Paris Trade Show in July 2013.
