RAFAEL CENNAMO
Rafael Cennamo launched his eponymous label in 2006 and has since become renowned for the elegant couture designs and strong vision he brings to the world of eveningwear.
Fueled by his passion for modern glamour, Cennamo designs with a classic eye, but sees through a contemporary lens. Cennamo uses bold colors and luxurious fabrics coupled with edgier structures to reinterpret classic couture silhouettes, creating a truly beautiful effect.
Born into an Italian-Venezuelan family, the precocious Cennamo began designing as a young adolescent. Being involved in his brother's model agency allowed him the opportunity to showcase his vision and style at an early age by dressing the Venezuelan models and beauty queens. Cennamo cultivated his vast understanding of couture design at IFAC in Miami, now known as Miami International University of Art & Design. The designer's popularity grew quickly, enabling him to open his first atelier in
Venezuela and to eventually launch his couture eveningwear label in 2006.
With the success of his couture label, Cennamo began creating a bridal gown for each collection and subsequently launched a bridal collection for spring 2010. Cennamo's use of glamorous silhouettes and opulent details continues to draw accolades, making him a favorite among high-profile clients.
Over the years, Cennamo has dressed a variety of prominent celebrities and socialites including Beyonce, Toni Collette, Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria, and Gwen Stefani to name a few.
Today, the designer runs his company from his New York office and plans to open boutiques in both New York and Miami. Currently, Cennamo's collections can be found at select Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue stores as well as at high-end retailers around the world, including Harrods, Hirshleifers, and Harvey Nichols Dubai.
