RAIF ADELBERG

Raif Adelberg is a fashion designer, artist, gallerist and magazine publisher who loves to create. Born into a family of designers and art collectors, Adelberg as a gallerist has produced shows by KAWS, Ryan McGinness, SEEN and Kostas Seremetis. He continues to work with his own art installations like The Dead Boys Clubhouse, inspired by the closure of the landmark New York club CBGB, channeling Barbra Kruger, Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood. Adelberg was also the publisher and creator of MADE magazine, which featured artists from around the world and gave them a platform to showcase their talents. MADE was available internationally at stores and museums. Adelberg’s early years were spent in Vancouver before living in Hawaii, Palm Springs and Los Angeles, California, eventually returning to his roots and current home on Bowen Island, British Columbia. He received international recognition for his Vancouver boutique, Richard Kidd (open from 2004-2008) which featured a unique mix of high-end fashion, including his own men and women’s collections under the Richard Kidd label. Vogue and Style.com referred to it as one of the top stores to visit in the world. Adelberg launched his eponymous luxury cashmere collection for men in the fall of 2011, which was quickly scooped up by Bergdorf Goodman NY with dedicated space on the men’s designer fifth floor. The designer’s much-anticipated women’s collection will launch in stores for Spring/Summer 2013 and will be available at Barneys NY and LA, on the women’s designer floor.
