Ricardo Seco was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and is considered to be one of Mexico’s most influential designers. A self-taught designer, Ricardo was a businessman for more than twelve years before he decided to pursue his passion and risk everything for what he truly loved: fashion. Fashion encouraged Ricardo to leave his country and study design in the prestigious Marangoni Institute in Milan and Paris.
Throughout his career, Ricardo has established himself with creative partnerships, including the leading footwear company Converse. As their Creative Director, Ricardo merged his groundbreaking designs with the company’s iconic Chuck Taylor sneaker. Other creative partnerships include international brands Disney and Casa Cuervo.
With his designs internationally recognized, Ricardo has presented his work at the Museo Rufino Tamayo in Mexico City and was the closing designer for Fashion Week in Colombia and Miami. Since the beginning of his fashion career, Ricardo has been well noted by fashion critics and publications alike, and in 2002 was selected as Designer of the Year by Quien Magazine. Fashion editors also recognized him that same year as Newcomer of the Year.
Ricardo’s creations are designed with both men and women in mind and are easily recognized for their uniqueness, cleanliness of fabric detail, patterns and sophisticated fit. Ricardo Seco’s fashion seeks to captivate and seduce the public while highlighting his native country internationally. He debuted his first men’s collection during New York Fashion Week in February 2012. Ricardo unveiled his first women's collection Spring 2015 "DREAMS" at 7 World Trade Center.
