Comrades A Franco, Jacob Willis and Joshua Willis conceived SECOND/LAYER together in the spring of 2012. While still nurturing a start up creative agency and bonded by more than a decade of friendship, SECOND/LAYER was born in their basement studio in Venice, California. Through a shared aesthetic of minimal chicano, the focus of SECOND/LAYER was to create a tailor made, non-gender bias form. Flexible daily wear realized through free-sized proportions, pure silhouettes, and smart fabrications shaped by a real and confident attitude is at the core of each design. The designers’ cultural roots, individuality, and a dedication to innovation fuels and defines the brand. The look presented by SECOND/LAYER is reserved for the confident sartorialist who honors an innovative take on classic styles and modern proportions.
