2017 marks Ellery’s 10th Year Showing at Australian Fashion Week & Etihad Airways’ 10th Year of Service to Australia
SYDNEY (Monday 8 May 2017) - A groundbreaking decade of fashion and travel will be celebrated at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. The event will host a celebration for one of Australia’s most influential fashion brands, Ellery, and will fete Etihad Airways’ 10 years of service to Australia and partnership with the global fashion industry.
A VIP cocktail reception hosted by designer Kym Ellery will celebrate 10 years of showing at Australian fashion week with a retrospective of Ellery’s most iconic looks from the brand’s archive. As an Australian-born label which has gained substantial international momentum, Ellery has positioned Australian design at the forefront of global trends. Firmly positioned as one to watch at the international level, Ellery embodies the global spirit while celebrating its Australian roots. A regular on the Paris Fashion Week schedule, Ellery returns this season to Sydney to honour its heritage and continue promoting Australian fashion and commerce.
Etihad Airways will celebrate its 10th anniversary of service to Australia and showcase its support for fashion with the Australian launch of its innovative ‘Runway to Runway’ program. A unique loyalty and rewards program designed specifically to support the fashion community’s international travel requirements, Runway to Runway members are eligible to receive special airfares, airport lounge access, complimentary upgrades, priority boarding and check-in, additional checked baggage allowances, as well as preferred cargo and group travel rates when travelling for photo shoots, showing collections overseas, or conducting business in overseas markets.
The airline’s ongoing support for fashion is underpinned by an agreement with IMG which includes participation in 17 flagship fashion events worldwide each year. Since signing the agreement in 2016, the Abu Dhabi-based airline has helped designers, models and brands celebrate major milestones and reach new audiences the world over with activations at New York Fashion Week: The Shows, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Lakmé Fashion Week (Mumbai) and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
